York is another good meet with a relaxed attitude. It has quite a lot of furs in attendance. It is the furthest meet to the north of the NorthernFurs area. It is a good area for LondonFurs and also Notzfurs to get to. Next Meet: Saturday 28th August 2010 BY ORDER
Noting the great contribution of the former convenor of these illustrious gatherings, and his absence from this gathering.
Acting under the laws and customs of the land, it has fallen upon me, Aremay, to orchestrate this most momentous of occasions for all the northern furs and their villeins to gather and engage in much merriment.
Thus I lay before you the plan - we are to assemble at York Railway Station outside WHSmiths from the 11th hour of the clock, and will remain there until 11:30 AM or thereabouts, whereupon we shall repair to the Varsity tavern within the walls of York for drink, intellectual conversation and merriment. Those who shall be unable to arrive before the time of departure may dispatch unto me a private message, and I shall impart onto you my mobile phone number, so you need not despair from want of entertainment or direction.
As in previous years group activities were provided, it has been deemed both right and noble to continue this custom. Thus, I will provide unto you all both a list of suggested other activities you may wish to engage in during the day in the city of York, and a list of varied and stimulating questions, to test the boundaries of thy knowledge, so you may compete for a token of victory, that I shall impart at the end of the day (around 3 of the clock). At that time, providing the good Lord hath provided sunshine and gentle breezes, we shall repair to the gardens of the Yorkshire Museum - though if the skies be leaden and the ground sodden, further merriment at the tavern will be had.
Ye rules
- No banging of tankards on tables
- No chewing of the ears of the rabbit
- No Slap and Tickle of the wenches
- No yodelling, lewd songs or Justin Bieber renditions whatsoever
- No false coinage or note or scrip
(Seriously, this is my first large meet and I will ask anyone who's being too daft to leave. We're all out to have fun, not earn a bad rep. But I'm sure we'll be fine!)
God Save the Queen!
