So, you want to know what furry art is all about eh? Well, If you have already read the “What Is Furry” section then you should already have a good idea as to what “furry” actually is, if not then here is a brief description.
“Furry”, “Fur”, “Anthro”, “Anthropomorphic” and “Funny Animal” are most of the terms used to describe a furry character. “Furry” or “Fur” being the most common and “Funny Animal” being the least, I personally don’t like that one. What a fur actually is, is a fictional character based on an animal but with human characteristics, such as the ability to walk on two legs.
Now you know what a “fur” is I can now go back to the main topic, Furry Art.
Furry Art, to be put quite simply is artwork such as drawings, paintings etc based on furries. Most members of the furry fandom use this medium to allow other players or furs to get a better idea of what there character actually looks like.
Examples of furry art may include some well known characters such as Roger Rabbit, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Because not everyone can draw furs like to come to other artists and commission them to draw there character, such pictures can be suitable for everyone to look at the enjoy, then there are others called “Yiffy Art” which is only directed to the adult members of the community.
The picture to the left is one that I drew and though that it would make for a nice example of furry art.
Now… To help you on your way for finding and browsing furry art, here is a short list of artists and there respective websites & galleries. Please remember to respect any copyright information or distribution requests by the artists, such information is usually found on there home page or copyright tag on their pictures.
